Hello world!

Why do people hate others who aren’t like them? Many white people do not think black people are equal in status to themselves. Many Christians do not think homosexuals or transgender people should be allowed to decide who they are or how they present to the world. Many Arabs hate Jews, and antisemitism generally has rocked the world for centuries. The Tutsi people in Rwanda were slaughtered by Hutus and the Croats and Bosnians by Serbs when Yugoslavia became a failed state. The Khmer Rouge massacred intellectuals (especially anyone who wore glasses). European and American citizens have demanded that immigrants be excluded from their societies and the United States has denied them the rights guaranteed under its constitution and shipped thousands of them out of the country, many ending up in places where they had no connections and many into foreign prisons. We discriminate against released prisoners who have “paid their debt to society” and often make their lives living hells. Everywhere we look there are people who are defined as less than human, as unworthy of respect, as having no dignity or class. Yet all human beings originate in the same place and are of the same species: homo sapiens.
